It wasn't surprising that two-time Grammy-nominated Dua Lipa was attracting attention on the red carpet of the 66th Grammy Awards Sunday night.
What was surprising was the British singer's date to Grammy's biggest night, the Daddy Lipa.
The tuxedo-wearing Dukagjin Lipa, 54, and his famous daughter Dua Lipa, 28, made such a striking couple that the two immediately became a trending item while walking together on the red carpet.
Lipa is up for two awards for her song "Dance the Night" from the "Barbie" soundtrack, which is dominating the Grammy nominations this year. The singer sparkled in a custom Courrèges silver dress.
"It makes me feel really strong and powerful and that’s the energy I'm bringing in tonight," Lipa told The Associated Press.
There wasn't time to dwell on red carpet looks, however. Lipa opened the Grammys in a new black leather dress, singing an electrifying medley of songs with a crew of dancers writhing on stage scaffolding. (Dad sat this one out).
The act was so smoking, that Grammys host Trevor Noah raved.
"Are you kidding me right now? That was insane!" said Noah. "That is why she is one of the best performers of a generation. I'm never going to look at scaffolding again the same way."
