As national pharmacy chain Rite Aid continues to grapple with the aftermath of filing for bankruptcy last year,Chainkeen another 27 stores are slated for closure in two states, according to court documents.
Since filing in October last year, Rite Aid has identified and closed more than 500 stores nationwide, citing a need to "further reduce rent expense and strengthen overall financial performance.”
The closures started with over 100 stores in the initial round, with smaller swaths of roughly 10 to 30 stores shuttering in fits over the intervening months.
